Meet Our Team
The team at Hunters Hill Medical Centre are highly trained professionals with continuing education and training to ensure they are each utilising their experience and skills to ensure our patients are receiving the best possible care. Hunters Hill Medical Centre maintains the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) Standards for General Practice and is also accredited with AGPAL.
Dr Therese Kanaan
(Principal General Practitioner)
Dr Therese Kanaan completed a Bachelor of Medical Science and Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery with Honours at Sydney University (graduated in 2011). She happily joined the team in 2023. During her training she was awarded a
scholarship which saw her traveling to rural and remote areas of Australia. She strongly believes in treating the patient as a whole, the importance of listening and educating patients in self medical awareness. Over the past 12yrs
she continues to mentor and teach medical students from the University of Sydney, Notre Dame and Western Sydney. Dr Kanaan is a Fellow of the Royal
Australian College of General Practitioners and a GP supervisor for GP registrars in training. She has over 12yrs experience in aged care working in over 15 different facilities in Greater Sydney, currently providing services to St
Anne’s, St Joseph’s and Montefiore Hunters Hill. In 2021 she co founded ‘Mobile Healthcare Clinic’ a provider of medical services to residential aged care facilities. She has experience in minor surgical procedures, dermatology, women, men, adolescent and children’s health, mental health, geriatrics, palliative care, complex worker’s compensation and third party. Dr Kanaan is also trained in
cosmetic injectables (botulinum toxin and dermal filler treatment) with over 12 years experience.
A Hunters Hill local she often spends her free time outdoors with her two young children.
Dr Kanaan speaks both English and Arabic.
Dr. Stephanie Butler
(Independant General Practitioner)
Dr Stephanie Butler is mum to four young adults; when she isn’t seeing
patients, she can be found spending time with her children or walking her dogs along the beach, two of her most enjoyable activities. Back in the surgery, Dr Stephanie’s professional passion is to be involved in the true healing process of her patients. Not only interested in concentrating
solely on clinical medicine, Dr Stephanie enjoys having long-standing patients that she can guide and support on their journey to better health.
Dr. Steven Tongson
(Independant General Practitioner)
After Dr Tongson completed his Medical Degree, he completed six years’ of service as a Medical Officer with the Royal Australian Navy. During his service
he was involved in anti-terrorism operations in the Middle East, anti-piracy operations in Somalia and natural disaster relief in Indonesia.
Dr Steven maintains his fitness through various activities including swimming and jogging and is a father to two young children. To maintain and to create
balance in his life, he uses meditation. Steven specialises in aviation and diving medicals, facial capillaries, leg vein treatments, cosmetic injectables,
skin checks and skin cancer excisions, treatment for excessive sweating and Stem Cell Therapy.
Dr. George Nohra
(Independant General Practitioner)
Dr George Nohra completed his medical studies at Western Sydney University, prior to which he completed a Bachelor of Science majoring in Cardiophysiology at Sydney University. He completed his hospital training at Westmead and Auburn hospitals and has since worked in several GP practices across Western Sydney. Dr Nohra is passionate about General Practice and enjoys the opportunity to provide continuity of care. He enjoys all aspects of General Practice but has a particular interest in Preventative Medicine, Men’s Health and Skin Cancer.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends and supporting his beloved Parramatta Eels.

Christine Brown
(Practice Manager)
Chris is an Accredited Certified Practice Manager, AGPAL Surveyor, Trainer, and Consultant to many practices. Chris has overseen the transition and growth of the practice acting as the team leader and mentor, supporting the practitioners and staff in the provision of comprehensive healthcare services for their patients.
Chelsea
(Registered Nurse)
Chelsea is our Registered Practice Nurse with over 7yrs experience in childhood immunisations, wound care, cannulation and venepuncture.

Kylee
(Patient Liaison Office Manager)
Kylee plays an integral role in the practice supporting both staff and patients and goes above and beyond to ensure the best outcome for all.
Christian
(Operations Manager)
Co-founder of Hunters Hill Medical Centre, Christian oversees all operations whilst continuing to manage Mobile Healthcare Clinic.

Julie
(Receptionist)
Julie has been with the practice since the beginning of 2007 and is an integralmember of our hardworking reception team. Originally from New Zealand, Julie is very much a people person who loves working alongside our practitioners in our family-orientated environment. Over the years Julie has come to know most of our patients, attending to their reception needs with discretion and respect. Julie enjoys catching up with ‘her’ patients whenever they call in to the practice or phone reception.
Sophie
(Receptionist)
Sophie has been with the team since 2013, a people person who loves to chat and ‘catch up’ with our patients, whilst they are waiting for their appointments.
Stephen Casey
(Physiotherapist)
Stephen Casey is a musculoskeletal physiotherapist; a title awarded to physiotherapists who have met the APA’s rigorous professional competency standards. With both a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Science in Manipulative Physiotherapy, Stephen is highly qualified and thoroughly trained. Steve is the practice principal, founder of Hunters Hill Physiotherapy and head clinician. He has extensive experience in sports, orthopaedic, spinal and general physiotherapy.
Martina Nussbaumer
(Complimentary Medecine Practicioner)
Complementary Medicine Practitioner Martina Nussbaumer specialises in Nutrition Medicine & Massage/ Sports/Remedial Therapies. Her treatments are tailored to patient’s individual needs combining medical, nutritional and natural therapies focusing on the holistic approach to develop one’s natural state of balance, health and wellbeing.
